Ponces to see
Ponteceso is a Galician municipality that belongs to the Bergantiños region, specifically on the well-known Costa da Morte. Here you can find a wide variety of places that you cannot miss. Both natural places and places created by man, but all of them with a long history and a great Galician culture.
So, during your visit to Ponteceso, you should not miss these places that you will find below.
Dunes of A Barra
The A Barra Dunes are a large group of dunes almost 2 kilometers long and around 400 meters wide. From here you can have stunning panoramic views of Ponteceso. So don’t forget the camera.
In the area you will also be able to find a hiking route that goes from Ponteceso to the A Barra beach, Balarés beach and culminates in Pedra da Serpe. Without a doubt, it is a tour in which you can observe impressive places and landscapes.
Niñóns Beach
Niñóns beach should be a mandatory stop if you decide to do the Camiño dos Faros. It is a beautiful beach that has a bit difficult access, especially for those who do not know the way. However, this is an ideal beach for relaxation, as it is very quiet and surrounded by pine forests.
It is an almost magical beach that you can visit in the company of friends, partner or family. Although it is not too big and has loyal visitors every year, it is a beach where you will always find a place for yourself.
Pedra da Serpe
If you are a lover of monuments, this is without a doubt one of the places that will leave you impressed. Behind this stone there is a wonderful legend that has given life to what it is today. According to that legend, the town was infested by a plague of snakes. It lashed out at the town and had already claimed several innocent lives. Then, San Adrián arrived and with his staff he was in charge of petrifying the mother of all these serpents. From that moment, the plague ended and it remained in the rock forever.
It is basically a rock surrounded by a silhouette very similar to a large snake. On this, there is a large stone cross, a symbol of Christianity.
